SIS middle school students explores that age-old question befuddling every student, “How to Succeed in High School Without Really Trying,” with their own take on Jonathan Rand's play. Staged, directed, acted and produced entirely by students from grades 7 to 11, with the nurturing guidance of Ms. Gauthier and Mr. Byrne. The play is centred on a group of student agents infiltrating an assembly to demonstrate their secret tips and tricks to make it through high school, ranging from legally changing your name to get around roll call, to using Tom Cruise to help memorize science terms. This show is open to all guests, and admission is free.
SIS celebrates Halloween with Refugees

SIS’ People To People International (PTPI) club hosted 45 refugee students with their two chaperone teachers at our annual Halloween celebration today. The students ‘shadowed’ their ‘host’ students at their classes, and also joined in the fun of the Halloween Carnival after school organized by the Student Council’s Halloween Committee. The varied activities provided the refugees a thrilling time with activities such as face-painting, a mock haunted house, apple-bobbing, phanta-pong, mystery box challenge and coin-toss games. The refugee students had a fascinating time marvelling at the students’ costumes and appreciated the opportunity to access the activities at an international school.
October 2014 Open Day

SIS Video Challenge 2014 Prize Presentation

We're pleased to announce the winners of The 2nd SIS Video Challenge are "Basically YACOT" as champions, and the runner-up team is "The Dude's Table". Students, staff and guests were loud in their applause at the prize presentation when the winning teams were called out, and earned the RM1,000 cash prize! The SIS Video Challenge is an annual competition where students from all grades showcase their talent in producing a 5-minute video with the guidance of a teacher mentor. Videos from the top 5 finalists was also screened, and guests had an entertaining show as the teams showcased their creativity in capturing this year’s theme, “SIS Rocks!”
SIS 2nd Annual Inter-School Poetry Slam

Come on, come all – to the SIS's 2nd Annual Inter-School Poetry Slam! Watch our SIS poets orate and emote against other international schools for the coveted Helios Cup. This year, we’ll have noted Malaysian National Laureate Datuk Dr A. Samad Said as our Guest Poet, alongside other literary and distinguished figures like Mr. Chin San Sooi, founder-member of Five Arts Centre, Mr. Jamal Raslan, spoken word poet and educator, and Mr. Az Samad, composer and Dr. Elizabeth Lee, Senior Executive Director of Sunway Education Group serving as judges. With individual and group performances that are sure to move you to tears of joy or sympathy, the SIS Poetry Slam is an event not to be missed!

Following the release of your child’s academic report on 23rd September, this meeting is a good time to discuss your child’s progress and plan steps for further improvement. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring your child/ward to the meeting. Teachers will be meeting with parents and students on a first-come, first-served basis.

International Understanding Day

SIS had its inaugural International Understanding Day, hosted by the SIS Interact Club. International Understanding Day is an annual cultural event hosted by Interact Clubs all over the world to promote inter-cultural awareness and to celebrate racial diversity. The theme for SIS's first ever International Day is O' Canada. There were student performances, games and activities, lucky draws and light refreshments featuring the wealth of Canadian culture.

HPV Health Talk
Date : 29th April 2014 Venue : Sunway International School
SIS was privileged to have Dr. Premitha Damadoran, Obstetrician/Gynecologist from Pantai Medical Centre give a talk on Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) at the SIS Hall today. Grade 7 and 8 students came to hear Dr. Premitha speak on the risks posed by the virus, the effects and prevention methods including vaccination. Organised by the School Nurse, the talk was part of the initiative to educate and raise awareness about specific health topics particularly affecting teenagers today.
