Bill Ironside

Principal

Mr. Ironside joins SIS as the Canadian Principal of Sunway International School, with over 28 years of experience in Ontario education.  He was a classroom and student services teacher/chairperson for 15 years before becoming a Programme Consultant supporting many elementary and secondary schools in the Board of Education.  In 2008, Mr. Ironside became a Vice-Principal and subsequently a Principal in Ontario.  Mr. Ironside was also the Principal of a Canadian school in China during this time.

Mr. Ironside holds a Bachelor’s of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, Ontario and a Bachelor’s of Education from Laurentian University, Ontario. He has additional qualifications in Guidance, Library, Special Education, Religion, and Educational Leadership.

 

Heath Kondro

Deputy Principal

Mr. Kondro holds a Bachelor of Education and two Master of Education degrees in the areas of Technology and Administration Leadership, all from the University of Alberta.  Now in his 17th year of teaching, Mr. Kondro has taught World and Canadian History, Economics, Communication Technology in Malaysia and first year university courses in Canada. His administrative background includes 5 years as Technology Director in Bolivia, and Vice-Principal in a middle school in Vietnam. Mr. Kondro's responsibilities include student discipline, academic program involvement and student, and teacher supervision and assistance.

 
 

Low Fun Fun

Head - Admissions & Administration 

Ms. Low Fun Fun joined SIS in 2012, inspired by the academic quality and uniqueness of the Ontario curriculum. She brings a wealth of experience from her 14 years’ service in the sales, public relations and marketing sector. Ms. Low oversees all admission & administration matters for SIS.       

 
 
 

Michael Owen

Academic Coordinator

As the Academic Coordinator, Michael Owen oversees all academic matters for SIS. Mr. Owen earned his Diploma in Education from the University of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia and completed his Masters in International Education at Western University, Ontario. He previously taught at Sunway College for 2 years before joining SIS. Mr. Owen has been with Sunway for over 10 years and counting. He teaches English, Social Science, Technology and Business courses.    

 
 

Steven Tan

Operations Coordinator

Mr. Steven Tan has served Sunway Education Group for over 15 years in various capacities; as a lecturer, Administration Coordinator and Resident Executive in Hostel Operations. As Operations Coordinator, Mr. Steven oversees students’ security and welfare and the School’s disciplinary matters.

 

 

 

Amanda Molnar

Amanda Molnar is SIS's Lead Technology Coach and teaches business and economics. Ms Molnar holds a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto; a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University, Ontario; and her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation from the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. Ms Molnar has experience both in the business and teaching worlds, having worked for KPMG in Toronto and taught English in China. 

 
 

Andre Tuazon

Andre Tuazon holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons), majoring in Sociology, and a Master of Teaching degree both from University of Toronto. Prior to SIS, he has taught in Toronto, Vancouver, and Seoul. Mr. Tuazon joins SIS as a Grade 7 core teacher

 
 

Ashley Walter

Ashley Walter graduated from Lakehead University in Ontario with a Bachelor (Hons) in Fine Arts and Education. Prior to SIS, she was the Arts Director at an international school in China, and taught English and Drama. Ms. Walter joins SIS to teach high school Drama and Art.

 
 

Bessie Le

Bessie Le holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology obtained from York University, as well as a Masters in Education with addtional qualification in special education. Prior to SIS, she taught for the Toronto District School Board for 3 years as an Educational Assistant, teaching students with learning challenges and special needs and subsequently, taught in Melbourne, Australia. Ms. Le joins SIS as a Grade 7 Core teacher.  

 
 

Brendan Narancsik

Brendan Narancsik obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from York University, and his Bachelor of Education from Trent University. Prior to SIS, he taught English in South Korea, and has been teaching Drama and History for 6 years at SIS.

 
 

Brendan Brisco

Brendan Brisco is a graduate of Bishop's University where he studied Political Science and History and holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto. He has taught in Canada, South Korea, China and Vietnam. Mr Brisco joins SIS as a teacher for high school English and Marketing.

 

 
 

Chantelle Picanco

Chantelle Picanco graduated from the University of Toronto, Ontario with a Bachelor (Hons) of Arts in French and Geography. She completed her Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University, Ontario and has additional teaching qualifications in English as a Second Language. Mme Chantelle currently teaches Grade 7 and 8 French. 

 

 
 

Cherish Yap

Cherish Yap obtained her Bachelor of Arts and her Bachelor of Education from York University, Ontario. Prior to SIS, she accumulated 5 years of teaching experience, having taught in Canada, South Korea, China and Honduras. Ms. Yap currently teaches Grade 8 and has additional teaching qualifications in English as a Second Language. She is also the responsible for the development of the music programme at SIS.

 

 
 

Christina Godoy

Christina Godoy earned both her Bachelor (Hons) of Arts and Bachelor (Hons) of Education from York University, Ontario. Her specialization is in English and Social Sciences, and she also has qualifications in special education. Ms. Godoy has taught at middle and high schools in Canada, and teaches high school History, English, and Drama in SIS.

 

 
 

Clayton Nolan

Clayton Nolan graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor (Hons) of Arts in Physical Education with a minor in English Literature.  He completed his Bachelor (Hons) of Education at Lakehead University, and obtained additional qualifications to teach Biology from Queen’s University. Mr Nolan is both an Ontario and British Columbia certified teacher, and has previously taught in China and Canada. He currently teaches English and Health & Physical Education.

 
 

Curtis Triol

Curtis Triol obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History from Trent University, and holds a Bachelor of Education from Queens University. Prior to SIS, he taught the IB Diploma Programme in History and Psychology, as well as MYP Individuals and Societies in London, England. He has also taught Social Sciences in the Ontario Curriculum for 2 years at a Canadian International School in Cairo, Egypt. He joins SIS teaching English, Economics, Civics and Career Studies.

 
 

Daniel Eves

Daniel Eves graduated from York University with a Bachelor (Hons) of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Science. He completed his Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University, Ontario and has additional teaching qualifications in Mathematics and Physical Education. Previously a Grade 8 Core teacher at SIS, Mr. Eves currently teaches high school Health and Physical Education.

 
 

David Barrette

David Barrette received his Bachelor (Hons) of Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor, Ontario specializing in Movement Science. He completed his Bachelor of Education from Western University, Ontario specializing in Health and Physical Education. Mr Barrette currently teaches Science and Physical Education in the high school programme.

 

 
 

Diana Morin

Diana Morin holds a major in French and a Bachelor of Education from University of Quebec in Montreal (UQÀM). Mme Morin has taught in high school as well as the IB program in a private school in Québec, Canada.  She has previously taught French and Civics and Careers, and is currently teaching Geography (Grade 9) and Anthropology, Sociology & Psychology (Grade 11) at SIS.

 
 
 

Emily Carroll

As the High School Facilitator, Emily Carroll supports the Academic Coordinator and oversees the high school teaching faculty. Ms Carroll holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Science in Human Kinetics, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa, with teaching capabilities in  Biology and Health & Physical Education. Ms. Carroll has taught in the United Arab Emirates and Canada. In her time at SIS, Ms Carroll has spent more than 2 years teaching middle school, and currently teaches Science and Biology to high school students.

 
 

Emily Olson

Emily Olson completed both her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English, and Bachelor of Education with a minor in Learning Disabilities at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. She has 8 years of experience in the community support field, and specializes in English, Social Sciences, and Special Education. Ms. Olson previously taught high school English and Grade 8 core. She currently teaches Middle School Physical Education & Health, and Science.

 
 

Evan Long

Evan Long is SIS’s Technology Coach, and is responsible for creating, supporting and implementing technology-based teaching resources at SIS. He received his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from Queen’s University, before completing his Bachelor of Education from Queen's University, Ontario. Mr. Long has taught Health and Physical Education, Science, Business, IT and Mathematics courses at SIS.

 
 

Francesco Ciardullo 

As the Sports Co-ordinator, Mr Ciardullo is in charge of  the SIS Athletic Programme. In this capacity, Mr Ciardullo organizes inner and inter school sports for SIS, including friendly and competitive competitions and middle school intramurals. He studied Recreation and Leisure at Canadore College, Ontario. Mr Ciardullo organizes both the grade 7/8 and 9-11 inner school futsal tournaments each semester, and coaches both the boys and girls football teams at all levels.

 

 

 

Jade Lake

Jade Lake graduated from Queen’s University, Ontario with a Bachelor (Hons) of Physical Education and Health. She completed her Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University, Ontario and has additional teaching qualifications in Special Education. Ms. Lake has taught Grade 7 Physical Education and Health, and Grade 8 Science and Technology. She is currently the Grade 7 Core teacher.

 
 

James Lahey

James Lahey studied Philosophy and Religious studies at the University of Western Ontario and graduated from the Faculty of Education. Prior to SIS, Mr. Lahey spent 8 years teaching Communications Technology and Business Studies at the Secondary and Adult Education panel for the Thames Valley District School Board in Ontario. Mr. Lahey teaches Communications Technology and Art to SIS high school students. 

 
 

Jared Keddy

Jared Keddy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and English and a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy, both from Dalhousie University, Halifax. He completed his Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Toronto, Ontario. Prior to SIS, Mr. Keddy taught for 3 years in Korea and Thailand, and teaches high school English and IBDP's Theory of Knowledge in SIS.  

 
 

Jennifer Vicencio

Jennifer Vicencio graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) majoring in Human Geography and specializing in History, as well as a Master of Teaching degree. Prior to teaching at SIS, she taught in Toronto. Ms. Vicencio joins SIS as a Grade 8 Core teacher.

 
 

Joseph Brush

Joseph Brush obtained a Bachelor (Hons) of Arts at Wilfrid Laurier University, Ontario where he studied English Literature, History, and Film Studies. He completed his Bachelor of Education at the University of Ottawa. Mr Brush previously taught in Ontario before joining SIS where he is teaching Grade 7 Core.

 
 

Lanz Singbeil

Lanz Singbeil holds a Bachelor of Science (hons) in Interactive Arts and Technology, and a Bachelor of Education, both from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. Prior to SIS, Mr. Singbeil taught Mathematics and Information Technology for 2 years in China. He now teaches middle school science at SIS.  

 
 

Lim Ann Lay

Lim Ann Lay holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Arts from University of Malaya, a Diploma of Education from University of Science Malaysia and a Master of Modern Language Studies from University Malaya. Mr. Lim has 26 years of teaching experience in Malaysia and Singapore, having taught students in the local and British curriculum, and International Baccalaureate Diploma programmes. Mr. Lim teaches high school's Bahasa Malaysia in SIS.

 
 

Marie-Josée Talbot-Provost

Marie-Josée Talbot-Provost holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Education with a major in French and a minor in Anthropology, Sociology, and Psychology from McGill University. She also has additional qualifications in special education. Prior to SIS, Mme Talbot has taught in a private high school in Québec, Canada. At SIS, she has taught Visual Arts, History, and French for the Canadian and the IB Programme.

 
 

Mark Milberg

Mark Milberg holds a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of British Columbia, a Bachelor of Education from Queen's University and an Honours Specialist in Chemistry from the University of Toronto. Prior to SIS, he has taught in Canada and Vietnam. Mr. Milberg has been with SIS for more than 5 years teaching Chemistry. He was appointed the IB Coordinator of the school in 2016.

 
 

Martin Pagé 

Martin Pagé holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education from McGill University. Mr. Pagé previously taught Mathematics and Chemistry in a private high school in Montréal, and Advanced Functions and Calculus in Sunway College’s Canadian International Matriculation Programme (CIMP) since 2011. At SIS, he continues to teach high school and IBDP Mathematics courses.    

 
 

Maximilian Kwok

Maximilian Kwok graduated from University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He completed his Bachelor of Education at Tyndale University College and Seminary, Ontario and has additional teaching qualifications in Mathematics and Physical Education. He has taught at SIS for over 4 years and is currently teaching Grade 11 Function and Applications for the Ontario Program and Math Studies SL for IB. Mr. Kwok also has specialist in Special Education and is the Student Success Coordinator at SIS.  

 
 

Nathan Shier

Nathan Shier received his Bachelor (Hons) of Arts in History from King’s University College, Ontario and his Bachelor of Education from Western University, Ontario. He is qualified to teach Intermediate and Senior courses, and also has qualifications in Guidance & Career Education and Special Education. Mr Shier taught in England for 2 years before joining SIS as a Grade 7 Core teacher. Currently, Mr Shier is a Guidance Counsellor and teaches high school History.  

 
 
 

Nicholas Towns

Nicholas Towns obtained a combined Bachelor (Hons) degree in English and History at Carleton University, Ontario before completing his Masters of English from the same university. He earned his Bachelor of Education at Queen's University, Ontario. Mr. Towns has taught in Jakarta, and taught Grade 7 Core for 4 years at SIS. Mr Towns currently teaches high school English and History.   

 
 

Norashimah Jalil

Norashimah Jalil graduated from the Islamic International University Malaysia with a Bachelor of Human Sciences, majoring in History and Civilization. Ms. Shimah has 11 years experience teaching Malaysian Studies, Moral Studies and Islamic Studies at pre-university level in local colleges. At SIS, she teaches Bahasa Malaysia to the middle school programme.

 
  
 

Olivia Frei

Olivia Frei holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Arts from the University of Toronto, and earned her Bachelor of Education from Trent University, Ontario. Prior to SIS, Ms. Frei taught English in Japan and South Korea, and has taught English for 5 years at SIS. She is currently teaching French to Grade 9 students.

 

 

 
 

Ryan Brown

Ryan Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History from the University of Western Ontario, and a Bachelor of Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. His specialization is in History and Social Sciences. He also has qualifications in Senior Level English. Mr. Brown is also certified to teach IB Geography. In SIS, he taught English and Social Sciences, and is now teaching Geography, for both Ontario and IBDP. Prior to SIS, Mr. Brown taught for a year in Seoul, South Korea.

 
 

Shane O'Connor

Shane O'Connor holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University.  Previously, Mr. O'Connor taught two years of middle school in Ontario before arriving at Sunway in October of 2016.  Currently, Mr. O'Connor is teaching grade 11 Physics and Biology following a brief tenure as a core grade 7 teacher at SIS at the end of 2016.

 
 

Subatra Muthusamy

Subatra Muthusamy obtained her Bachelor (Hons) of Education from University Tun Abdul Razak, Malaysia with a major in English Language. She also holds Master of Education, majoring in English Language Teaching from the Northern University of Malaysia. Ms. Subatra has taught English for 8 years, and currently teaches the English for Academic Purpose programme at SIS.

 
 

Theresa Data

Theresa Data holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Education and a Bachelor (Hons) of Medical Sciences Education, both from the University of Western Ontario. Previously, she spent 4 years teaching in England. Ms. Data is in her 4th year at SIS, and has taught Mathematics and Science to high school students. She is currently appointed as the SIS Mindfulness Coach.

 

 
 

Toban Brownridge

Toban Brownridge obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and History, and Bachelor of Education from University of Victoria, British Columbia. He has 4 years of teaching experience, gained from teaching in various provinces in China and in CIMP at Sunway College. Mr. Brownridge joins SIS as a Grade 8 core teacher. 

 

 
 

Tracy Ragell

Tracy Ragell holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and French as a Second Language from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelors in Education with an additional qualification in special education. Prior to SIS, she worked for Trillium International School in Trinidad and Tobago.  Ms. Ragell comes to SIS to teach English Literature and English as a Second Language.

 
 

Vanessa Yates

Vanessa Yates has a Bachelor (Hons) of Physical Education in Human Movement, and a Bachelor of Education from Brock University, and also holds Special Education qualifications. Ms. Yates worked as a behaviour therapist for 2 years and spent 3 years volunteer teaching in Thailand, Italy, Namibia and Botswana. Ms. Yates started her career in SIS teaching Grade 8 core for 2 years, before advancing to high school where she currently teaches Business. Ms. Yates is also the Athletic Lead of SIS.
